I LOVE my job!

As most of you know, this is the first week back to school for many kiddos and teachers all over Texas. Typically for me, this is a time of work, work and more work getting my class set up and everything prepared. Plus just being flat out exhausted from the fact that 22 little ones are in your care all day. This year has been much different, in a wonderful way. This year instead of having a full class of students, I'll be teaching a pull-out program with gifted and talented students in first through sixth grade. So one day I'll teach a small group of first graders, one day third grade, so on and so on. I couldn't be more excited and more thankful for this job!! And this week, I don't even have kids yet! So I've been busy taking pictures of the kids and teachers on the first day, helping out a little in the cafeteria, and today spent all day at another school planning the first couple of weeks with kids. It is a true joy. Here's me on the first day of school...no stress!! I'm so excited about this year and all the possibilities this new job will bring. And thankful for the time to be able to also step away and enjoy life! So this year I say with joy, YEAH for back to school!

hey there! That is so exciting about your new job! I had a job exactly like that when I was in Denton....what district are you with? I loved it and didn't want to leave it!

First of all, you look beautiful!!!

And yay for such a fun job!! I'm telling you, there are some definite perks to being a pull-out teacher! I remember that first week of getting to help do all the "extra" jobs like lunch duty :o) Now, just beware during TAKS season...they like to borrow you then, too :o)

I know you will be GREAT at this job!

Oh, and I miss you. It's so much harder to get up when I know you've already been there and gone! (But even harder to get up as early as you do!)

So glad you're loving your job! It sounds like much more fun than having 22 kids EVERY day! Much more interaction...

Anyway, we never did get a chance to get together but someday, my dear, someday!

Woohoo for new jobs!! The transition is so nice. It is fun to do something new....and something less stressful...or at least stressful different.

Hey! I bought it for $40, actually... at Sam's! They have them everywhere now--Kohl's, Penney's, Macy's, etc. But you're more than welcome to borrow mine. They get so little use, there's really no need to buy one, unless you really want to. Just let me know, and we'll figure out how to get it to you. I'll tell you what chocolate and stuff to use, too, if you want. My e-mail is jessica@jessicaburk.com.
