Please Pray for us this Weekend...

This was the easiest way I could think of to update everyone on what's happened with us over the past couple of days and ask for everyone's prayers this weekend. I'll try not to be too gorry but also try to give some specifics as well. If you want the full story, feel free to give me a call.

Earlier this week, I went to the doctor after having some unexpected concerns, and she found that I was already dialeted 1cm, and she thought my cervix felt a little short which could possibly be a sign of pre-term labor. She calmly prepped me for the worst, saying that I would most likely h ave to go on bedrest and that they might possibly have to admit me to the hospital that day! You can imagine the shock and anxieties this brought on immediately. So, she sent me up to have a sonogram in which a second doctor told us that my cervix looked perfectly normal. We were obviously thankful but also confused at why we'd gotten two totally different messages from these doctors.

After talking with my doctor that evening, she was still concerned about the dilating and had me come in today (Friday) for a test to determine the chances of this baby coming early. It's a test that measures protein levels near my cervix. If the test were to come back negative, that would tell us that we would have over 90 something percent chance that the baby would not come in the next 4 weeks. If it came back positive, then my chances of having the baby in the next two weeks would be around 30%. So, I got the call this afternoon that my test came back positive. This doesn't give us a ton of information other than knowing I'm at a greater risk to go into labor alot sooner than we'd like. She told me to stay off my feet this weekend, and to come in on Monday for another sonogram. She said that most likely this last stretch of pregnancy would be a lot more difficult than we'd anticipated.

So, I don't know alot right now other than it's very important that I rest and stay off my feet for the next couple of days. Hopefully Monday afer the sonogram, they'll be able to give me a better idea of our next steps. Please pray for us this weekend. That God would protect our sweet baby boy and keep him in my womb until he's perfectly ready to come out. I'm 30 1/2 weeks right now and baby is estimated at weighing just under 4 pounds. We obviously need him to stay in a while longer and work on developing those lungs! I never thought we'd be in a siuation like this, but I do know God is in control and has Tristan in the palm of his hands. We're thankful for you guys we treasure your prayers especially this weekend.

We'll update again on Monday after my Dr. appointment. Hopefully we'll have more news to share or at least a plan of what the next several weeks will look like. For now we're laying low at home, praying for our little peanut, and having lots of time to watch tv and movies in bed. :) Thank you again for your prayers for our sweet little one. We're so thankful to have so many amazing friends and family who will pray with us through these uncertain situaions! Love you guys!

Most definitely praying for you my friend. I can imagine it's a little crazy/confusing right now...how good to know in the midst of chaos and uncertainty our Lord is right there. I will be praying for peace for you and Justin and that your little sweet heart will stay right where he is a few weeks longer!

Mama Rains here to tell you to do what the doctor says. Stay in bed, do not get up at all except to go to the bathroom- seriously- you know I spent 4 months on bedrest with Maggie and followed Dr. orders carefully! I am praying for you and totally understand your anxiety. Please call me if you need to talk. God is in control. I had Abby 6 weeks early and she was a peanut- but look at her now! Thinking and praying for you! Terry

Sweet sister, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I am asking that you and Justin fully trust the Lord with your little Tristan. His plans are amazingly good. I'm also pleading that God would bring your little one safely into this world and allow you to be God's stewards in raising him to know the Lord... Thanks for letting me know how to pray for you!

I will be praying for your family. I know you are eager to meet your little one but also want him to be ready for his debut. Luckily the weather is perfect for staying in bed all weekend & relaxing! Here's a verse that came to my mind when I read your story...Philippians 4:2-3. Please keep us updated.

Hey Sharee! So scary, I know, but there are a lot of people praying for you guys, and I will definitely add you guys to my prayer list! I had the easiest pregnancy until 32 weeks when something scary happened to me and I had to go on modified bedrest until 38 weeks when they had to induce. Pregnancy is never what we expect!!! (well, except for those lucky people who just have it so great!!)

Sharee! This is so crazy to me. Well, I have a lot of friends who have had complications with their pregnancies lately, and reasons for possible concerns, but EVERY ONE of them has worked out perfectly. I trust that yours will as well. MattBurk and I will be praying for you, and especially for sweet baby Tristan. We know that God is faithful to hear our prayers, and to complete this good work he has started in you. Love you!
