Road Trip Weekend

I just got back yesterday from a weekend on the road! It'd been so long since I actually took a road trip somewhere, it was kind of fun! Friday I headed off to Abilene to spend the weekend with my parents. On the way, I got to stop in Ft. Worth and see my sweet friend Amy and her brand new baby Noah! Ohhhh, he is the absolute cutest little boy in the world. With that full head of dark hair and he was just so tiny! It made me so excited for November to get to hold our little one! Amy, Josh and Noah are doing great amidst having a baby, selling their house, packing and moving to Plano all in a few weeks time! But, I'm so excited to have them close by very soon!! I hope Noah and Baby Forman will have many fun times together!

After leaving Amy's I was headed to Abilene. Now realize only you who are from West Texas will most likely be able to fully appreciate the joy I'm about to share. I pulled over in Weatherford to grab a bite for lunch, I saw a Bueno sign and was headed for it. When I pulled around the Bueno drive-through, I saw this wondrous site! A site I hadn't seen in probably five years...Rosa's Cafe! (hear the choir singing in the background?). I couldn't have been more excited. Two #14 chicken fajitas and a lemonaid later, I was one happy girl! I even called Justin and my best friend Shelby to share in my excitement. Ahh, preggo cravings! The next morning, mom, dad and I loaded up in the car and headed on another road trip to Midland for a baby shower for my sweet friend Ami Tank! We hadn't seen each other in five years so it was such a joy to be able to see her cute pregnant self and hang out for a little bit. It's weird because although we're 10 years out of high school, and both about to be moms, it still feels like we are 18 when I'm around her. She hasn't changed a bit. We had fun taking silly preggo pics together and laughing about comparing these with our pics from high school on my parent's mantle wearing our short shorts thinking we were so cute! Now we're strutting some big ole' bellies. I can't wait to meet her little boy Cameron one day! The rest of the weekend mom, dad, and I spent relaxing and talking. Mom and I spent a good chunk of time making baby rooms plans and throwing out ideas. It was so good to be able to have some down time together just hanging out!

I have that maternity dress! From Target, right? Well, my sis-in-law has it now. They're expecting a boy in November, too!
