The Plaka

The Plaka was our favorite hang out spot in Athens. It's a small area of town that has tons of shops and restaurants and is just a really fun atmosphere to hang out in. And it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel. Every day and night we'd walk through the Plaka to grab dinner or gelato or take a peek into the shops there.
Kurt decided to look more "Greek" with his semi-see-through white shirt purchase!
We thought he fit right in!
Our first dinner in Athens - some Gyros (pronounced Yee-Rows) at a street cafeOur 2nd night we found this cute little family restaurant on the Plaka. The owner "Maximus" gave us free appetizer, wine and dessert! You can't beat the Greek hospitality! And the boys were so excited to find a Starbucks of all things! Lindsay and I were content with our gelato off the street!
